The Story

Spiral staircases naturally become focal points within a home, and the owners wanted this installation to make a lasting architectural statement. Rather than traditional wood or stone treads, they selected custom structural glass to create an open, light-filled design that complements the home’s modern interior.

Each wedge-shaped tread was individually fabricated to fit the spiral geometry while maintaining consistent appearance and structural performance. TCG Glass manufactured the laminated structural glass using our Privacy Frost™ finish, which softly diffuses light and provides privacy without sacrificing brightness. Our GlassGrit™ anti-slip surface adds dependable traction while remaining virtually invisible, allowing the beauty of the frosted glass to take center stage.



The completed staircase demonstrates how decorative structural glass can transform a functional element into one of the home’s defining design features, combining engineering, craftsmanship, and contemporary elegance.
