Private Residence
Maui, Hawaii
Perched on the island of Maui, this extraordinary private residence showcases one of TCG Glass’ most unique architectural installations—a custom suspended cast glass ceiling feature that serves as both lighting and sculpture. Designed to become the visual centerpiece of the home’s expansive living spaces, the handcrafted glass panels create a striking floating effect while softly diffusing integrated LED lighting.

The Story
Rather than using conventional decorative lighting, the design team envisioned an architectural feature that would become the focal point of the home. The solution was a series of suspended cast glass panels arranged in geometric forms and illuminated from within, allowing the entire installation to glow while maintaining clean, minimalist lines.
Each panel was individually manufactured with a custom cast glass texture to provide subtle diffusion and visual interest. Precision stainless steel point supports suspend the glass from the ceiling, giving the installation a floating appearance while concealing the lighting system within the framework.
The result is a dramatic overhead feature that changes throughout the day. During daylight hours, the textured glass captures and reflects natural light, while in the evening the integrated illumination transforms the ceiling into a sculptural centerpiece. The installation demonstrates how cast glass can move beyond walls and countertops to become a defining architectural element within luxury residential design.
