The Story
At the Bass Pro Shops headquarters in Springfield, Missouri, glass flooring was incorporated into a dramatic staircase surrounding a large-scale boat and underwater exhibit.
Custom structural glass treads and landings follow the sweeping stair system through the space. Integrated blue lighting illuminates the glass from below, visually connecting the walking surfaces with the surrounding aquatic environment and creating the impression of moving through the water.
The project demonstrates how structural glass flooring can become an integral part of an immersive architectural experience rather than simply a transparent walking surface.
