The Story

The Commerce Trust Company sought to create a welcoming and contemporary banking environment centered around an architectural staircase that would become the defining feature of the lobby. Rather than relying on traditional stone or metal treads, the design team selected structural glass to maximize openness and allow natural light to flow throughout the space.

TCG Glass manufactured the custom laminated glass stair treads and landings, each engineered for demanding commercial use while maintaining a clean, floating appearance. The low-iron glass provides exceptional clarity, while the integrated anti-slip walking surface delivers reliable traction without compromising transparency.

The completed staircase transforms the lobby into a dramatic architectural space, demonstrating how structural glass can combine engineering performance with timeless design.
