The Story
Modern airports must balance exceptional durability with an inviting passenger experience. For this terminal at JFK International Airport, the design team wanted to introduce daylight into lower levels while creating an architectural feature capable of supporting constant public use.
TCG Glass manufactured custom structural glass flooring specifically engineered for one of the most demanding environments imaginable. Unlike residential applications, airport flooring experiences thousands of people crossing it daily, requiring exceptional strength, reliability, and long-term performance.
The finished installation transforms an ordinary circulation corridor into a memorable architectural experience. Natural light filters through the transparent flooring while passengers move effortlessly across a surface engineered to perform for years under continuous public use.
