The Story
Rather than interrupting the home’s open design with a traditional floor opening or opaque materials, the architects envisioned a solution that would preserve uninterrupted views while allowing natural light to penetrate deep into the residence.
Working closely with the design team, TCG Glass manufactured a custom structural glass floor using ultra-clear low-iron laminated glass. The minimalist installation integrates seamlessly into the surrounding concrete floor, creating the impression that the glass simply disappears into the architecture.
The finished installation provides a safe, fully walkable surface while maintaining the openness and visual connection between levels. By reducing visual barriers and maximizing daylight, the structural glass floor enhances both the functionality and the architectural character of the residence.
